Internship Programs

Community Resource Liaisons (CRL Internship Program)
The Community Resource Department is a social-work based program focusing on the economic and resource needs of families affected by abuse and neglect. The center believes that families have a better opportunity to succeed when they have options and support. Services include needs assessments, referrals to community resources, assistance with clothing and baby care items and assistance applying for available financial resources.

Community Resource Interns work directly with families and assist professionals involved with investigating and managing cases of alleged abuse. Students experience conducting needs assessments, assisting with CPS investigations and casework, assisting families as they apply for various state benefits, supervising parent/child visits and working in a multi-disciplinary team environment.

Placements are available for both graduate and undergraduate students enrolled in social service related fields. Interns receive a three day training that provides basic knowledge of child abuse, family dynamics and the mission of Collin County Children's Advocacy Center.
